Supporting Safe Migration

Whether due to human trafficking or people smuggling, vulnerability during migration finds its roots in the inability to access formal migration channels, a lack of local opportunities for education or work, displacement due to conflict, or sudden shifts in the political or economic climate that force relocation. These factors are only compounded by debt, unemployment, poverty, food insecurity, and a lack of education or awareness about potential risk factors.

In cooperation with our grantees who work directly with these issues, WE Trust aims to protect the human rights of vulnerable individuals and groups in transition by seeking solutions to issues at various stages in their journey.

Our goal of safe migration for all is hindered by such a wide spectrum of problems and dangers that most of our grantees choose to narrow their focus to working on one or two of these at a time. We rely on the experience and knowledge of our grantees in addressing the many different faces of this complex issue.
