Our Mission

The non-profit community serving youth in under-resourced schools is fragmented and lacks the budget to market themselves to corporate donors. Corporate donors have limited awareness of the breadth and diversity of non-profits out there. Donors who wish to give to education on their own currently face red-tape, bureaucracy, and time diverted away from the core competencies of the business. Entrust.ED empowers local businesses to participate in supporting youth in under-resourced neighborhoods, as well as benefit from the positive marketing message of being a member of the Entrust.ED network.

Entrust.ED finds and vets projects, meets with school and community organizations, and ensures that donations are used to fund projects with clear objectives. Through an online donation site companies can utilize our knowledge of learning theories, education research, and quality local organization to directly impact the lives of youth. Our non-profit allows every party to focus on what they do best: companies can donate responsibly and effectively, while educational organizations can focus on direct services to under-resourced youth.

We identify the high quality organizations working to enhance the lives of youth in property-poor neighborhoods. After reviewing financial statements, interviewing the leadership, and establishing outcomes for youth; Entrust.ED creates a profile of the organization online. Next, we create a browsable directory where companies can donate directly to vetted education non-profits making a difference in a selected geographic area. Finally, Entrust.ED works to improve the brand of local companies by publicizing their commitment to education initiatives that enhance the lives of under-resourced youth.

An example organization is PlatteForum. They provide an answer to the critical need of learning through the arts for Denver’s youth, particularly for those who have the fewest opportunities. Engaged in creating, kids learn to understand they can contribute to the world—that they are valuable. In their internship program this year, high school interns learn real-world skills working with the creative residents and a lead artist. The youth are paid a stipend to instill responsibility, reward achievement, inspire new confidence and encourage goals, all the while creating art. Entrust.Ed will feature organizations like PlatteForum on our website enabling them to think BIG about creating opportunities for youth.

Rather than looking at how Entrust.ED differs, we’d like to focus on it’s similarities with another high-impact non-profit in the environmental space; 1% for the Planet. We will mirror that impact in the education space, by helping under-resourced youth.
